Bio:

He is known locally as ‘that bus driver feller who writes poetry’ has not driven a bus for four years so he needs to find other things to write about.


He started writing at university and was consequently asked to join the Crucible Theatre Writers Group in Sheffield in 1994. He began writing poetry after becoming a bus driver in Cornwall and a collection of his poems and musings were well received in his first publication A View from a Cab. 


He has also written two comic fantasy novels The Malthouse Falcon and Bigg’s Leap and has recently published a humorous non-fiction book called The Bus Drivers (not Pirates) of Penzance. 


Born in Lancashire of strong Cornish descent, he is passionate about Cornwall, and much of his poetry is about the land he regards as home. He likes to use humour and modern cultural tropes to get across serious points. He now lives in Penzance with Wendy and a one-eyed, toothless, diabetic cat called Licky (not Lucky).
