Bio:

My mother introduced me to the poetry of Hiawatha by H. W. Longfellow as a child; his way of descriptive writing captivated me with tales of Pau-Puk-Keewis, the sands of Gitche Gumee and Minnehaha. I'd read my little sister the poem at bedtime and though she could not understand a word she too was mesmerised by the magic.

I wrote my own poetry all through my life; through childhood and teenage years, my working years all the time. I did have the chance to present some poems to Faber and Faber in the 70s but never got around to it. When I had spare time at work by the typewriter I'd write a poem, whenever I had a new boyfriend I'd write a poem about him. Poetry stayed with me and still is with me at the present moment, comforts me when I need to express my feelings of sadness bereavement, joy and love.

I also studied English and History when I did a B.A. degree at Marjons in 1983-6, reading poetry by Wordsworth and William Blake amongst others.

And review

1. LOVE IS ALL THAT EXISTS by Thomas Lynas; Simply put; the reason for being alive and loving it ❤️

2. I WANTED TO by Loretta Gray; the things you want(ed) to say to a loved one but couldn't either because of absence or death.

3. TOGETHER AS ONE by Derek Hardy; the little things you love about a person till death do we part; the love shines through the poetry.

4. THROUGH THE DARKNESS by Keith Lesser; I liked it from the start as being different from most poems normally written in short verses; this is more like chapters in a book; the message is clear; confronting fears & unable to voice them through fear of  judgemental reactions by fanily; guilt that has laid dormant too long that needs to be addressed, very good; I could feel myself on his settee going over his problem

5. A MOTHERS PROMISE by Sabina Begum; About what every mother wants from the moment a child is born but feels the failure of not being able to fulfil that promise although she tried to do her best under the circumstances.

ALL THE POEMS WERE MASTERPIECES; and thought provoking
