Writer | Poet
Bio:
St Ives-based writer Rosie Beale’s love of literature began with family trips to the local library when she was a child. A voracious reader, she considered books as doorways to other worlds that were infinitely more exciting than her own. During young adulthood, Rosie wrote poetry, flash fiction and short stories for her own entertainment, and was pleasantly surprised when the work was well received outside of her group of family and friends.
After juggling work and home commitments, Rosie embarked on an English degree course and in 2017 graduated with a 2:I from the University of Plymouth. During this time, she rekindled her love for storytelling, and her preferred writing genres were Gothic & supernatural, reworked fairy tales and sci-fi/urban fantasies.
Rosie often seeks abstract patterns in life, and uses mixed media, film shorts, and environmental photography as a visual diary to the writing process. In conclusion, Rosie likes to feel that this close attention to detail helps her write about “ the things people may overlook while solely concentrating on the whole picture”.
